I remember being in junior high and the disappointment I would feel when I realized that I missed Shark Week on Discovery Channel, or only tuned in mid-week because I didn't know it had started already. You're welcome.

Thanks for the heads up. Oddly, even when I got cable, around junior high or so and I had the ability to watch shark week, I still think I liked the idea of watching it better than actually watching it myself. I just remember all of the commercials and thinking how cool it was. To this day I don't think I wave watched more than a few minutes.
I don't know, man. I am watching a documentary right now about great white sharks that jump out of the water to get seals on the surface, and it is fucking sweet.
Is there a Galapagos Turtle week by any chance?
Nope.
Sorry Keith, but you just can't shut Jess down like that.
How about, "Sorry Jess, but no such week exists at this time. Perhaps you can write to Discovery Communications and express your concern? They can be reached at http://extweb.discovery.com/viewerrelations "
See, that's how you let her down easy. (And the link is real too!)
I think the problem is that Jess was asking for a Galapagos *turtle* week, not a Galapagos *tortoise* week. That week starts on Floopuary 3rd this year.
:D Perhaps I'll try a friendlier, more helpful response style from here on out.
I think it is either go the kinder, gentler route or the complete opposite. Maybe, "Hey MOFO, there is no Galapagos *turtle* week, because all the turtles are DEAD!"
Personally, I like my own response, but to each is own.
wow...I know this is a little late in response, so I appologize, but I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the variety of responses available to my own one line response...simultaneously thought provoking, humorous and informative. And I think the turtles/tortoises of the world would be happy. Always important to consider.
