An officemate of mine receives a call from a student's mom. Given that the average age of our students is in the mid 30's, this is in itself is not very common. What she called about is just funny.
She says, "I need to get my son withdrawn from classes because he got picked up this past weekend on a bench warrant and won't be able to attend."
I think that's a good reason, although I often wonder if distance learning can extend to prisons? This could definitely expand the horizons of education :)

Also, Sgt. Slaughter wrestled last night. You know you're pissed that you missed it.
You are right! I am pissed I missed it. You need to tape this stuff. I am guessing he didn't win, but did he at least look imposing as he used to, as if his punches really hit?
Well, what happened was that the evil Arab guy, Muhammad Hassan, got beaten on by everyone at once in the Royal Rumble Sunday night. So he challenges anyone in the back who ganged up on him the other night to come face him. And then when no one did, he was like "any AMERICAN in the back!" Of course, out comes Sarge. :D
Sarge held his own, and honestly he looked great, like he'd lost a LOT of weight. He even got the Cobra Clutch in there at one point. Unfortunately, he's old and is not going to beat a new young guy.
In regards to the original post :) my brother is actually working at his job now to gain rights for former drug addicts to be able to get financial aid for school...perhaps there's a link here somewhere... :)
